I was excruciating with so much boredom just now that I typed "Bored" in the yahoo taskbar. With that, I was led to an even more boring listing of slides that I couldn't even bear to click on. *Groans*
Mingli got into Deloitte! (Is this how I spell?) Congratulations gal!!!! You did it! :) Was really happy for her... and I was promised a treat when she gets her first pay check, which is next October.. Well...! Counting down, there are 11 mths... Haha... Somehow right now, we're on the topic of jobs which I wish not to think or comment about. So ZIP.
It has been a wild week...! Mad with JLPT revision. I need a Jap-Eng dictionary. Shucks. I have a Eng-Jap dictionary but why the hell do I need this now since what I can't understand is the words in japanese... poof!
(Oh yah! watched 50 First Dates on VCD yesterday and realised that they used the word poof a lot of times! Haha... Adam Sandler is the next cute thing on my list after Colin Firth.) Back to JLPT, and yes, Brother is helping me get a Jap-Eng dictionary from Borders now... Hope it's not too expensive... BORDERS leh.... Shucks... Hope that he can get something in the 30 dollar region. I'm spending so much money on this language sometimes I wonder why. But I guess the answer would be similar to another person who's asked:
me to choc lover: Why do you love Chocolates?
choc lover to me: Because...
(wide smile & the you-know-why look)
me: (
Thinks aloud in my head: I don't know!)
Actually recently when people ask me why am I learning Japanese, my answer would be forthrightly "Because I wanna get a Japanese Husband." Which happens to be a product of teen-hood fantasy especially in the late 90s when good looking Japanese guys such as Kimura Takuya, Yosuke Eguchi, and when I was in Sec One, Domoto Tsuyoshii, who unfortunately has lost his charm, dominated the TV Screen. TV 12, I think... So, searching further back to Primary School. I would stare at my father's "Nihongo No Kiso" (meaning: Basic Japanese) books lined up on the shelf, and take his book and try to comprehend whatever I can. Obviously I couldn't read anything more than the Chinese characters (Kanji) or ABCs. So, why do I want to learn Japanese?
Wakaranai.
The law of diminishing returns is probably one of the greatest LAWS economists had ever contributed to the real world. Why? Cuz it is so aptly applied across many situations, from production capabilities to eating ice-cream to watching VCDs. I watched so many VCDs that I had to shut off one that I tried to start on just now. Let's make a list.
1. 50 First Dates
**** out of 5. Aloha Hawaii!
2. Confessions of a teenage drama queen
Clearly, this is the show that transformed Lindsay Lohan to a full blown bitch. Therefore, * out of 5. And, it SUCKS. Totally. Disney made a lousy film. Stick to cartoons. Cartoons! (not animation even)
3. Ella Enchanted
Anne Hathaway is a darling!!! So, ** out of 5, for a plotless show would be a bonus.
4. Mean Girls
Lindsay Lohan looked better without mascara, so ** out of 5
5. Go! ??????
Some Japanese show that won the Nth Japanese Film Awards. Kou Sabasaki (is this how I spell her name?) Didn't really get the movie. Haphazard to me. ** out of 5
6. "Di Xia Tie"
The Yida song was so irritating... kept "lalalafalatiso-ing" in the background. Weird and didn't like the show!!! ** out of 5 for being a Hong Kong Movie.
7. My teacher, Mr Kim
Beyond ratings can define. This was the show I had to shut off.
Aargh... I watched so much teeny flicks that I vow I had to shut away from it for awhile. If not when The Princess Diaries 2 comes on, I would go "Poof!". Shucks... Suddenly yearned for a thriller of some sort, not those that sends shivers down the spine, maybe some with action or something. Don't know. Any titles to recommend???
Can't wait to buy The Sims 2. Or should I settle for a tycoon game? Downloaded Mall Tycoon the trial version this afternoon. Waited 2 hrs in front of the comp (yes, hence my excruciating boredom) and there I got "You have 60 minutes to trial the version". Bloody idiot...! My first time downloading a game ok!!!!!! Bleahhhh!!!!
Getting dizzy...
