a very very bored, boring and bothersome person. I hate those who irritate but I am an irritant to some as well.

Life Goal
You don't need too many goals in life. I just have one. To travel around the world, ie go to every part of the world. All other things that seem like goals, are merely means to an end. Well, of course, if I like that place, I would like to go there again.

MICHELLENCARROM... i am a 御宅女!

My meals

Recently I've begun to pick up my pans and pots again! It's been a long time since I had my own cooking... haha. AND I've tried to be more adventurous and ambitious (though it's still simple cooking... in many people's eyes).

Hit the Korean supermarket - Freshia at Torrance this weekend. I thought I will be lost in translation, oh well, thankfully only 50% lost. At least I managed to recognise sesame oil haha.

Tried cooking Japchae! It's the first time trying and it tastes nothing like what I tasted that day when Deborah cooked it. Something was missing there... I think it's the soy sauce. I was there sniffing the different brands of soy sauce. Though I was tempted to buy, it was too big a bottle! And mum just brought over my favourite one and only DA HUA soy sauce that I'm used to. Soy sauce is very important in Chinese cooking... and I grew up tasting Da Hua soy sauce. I remember there was once mum changed brands to Tiger brand. And I could tell something was different! Gosh! And she never ever changed to anything else again. I think I am 100% true and devoted to Da Hua. Even the 'branded' brands like Kikkoman or Lee Kum Kee taste different and STRANGE.

Check out the shreds of carrots, greeen peppers, yellow peppers, onions, chicken (though beef is used in the dish, I am a non-beef eater) and spring onions. Actually I improved! I used to take 2 hrs to slice carrots, now I am down to 45mins! hahahaha...... I think one day I will further improve to 30mins! :) Getting better. Of course, a better investment of knives contributed to greater efficiency and concentrating on the carrot fully rather than MSN-ing at the same time helps.

Japchae was saturday night's dinner... and on sunday night, this was what I cooked quickly and gobbled quickly. A DON of tofu and egg. Yummy is what I can say.

Since it was sunday's night, what I cook would spill over to next day's lunch. Actually I've been waiting for sunday night. Cuz thinking of what to cook made me excited enough. Hahahaha. And here was the bento I packed for Monday -

Tofu and egg don with side of Chicken Marinated in Shao Xing Wine and Blanched Spinach.

Yummy.

home around 7plus and couldnt resist cooking again, and quickly whipped up a fried rice. Shit.... I eat for the sake of cooking, and not for the sake of eating. THis is so wrong. NO wonder I am getting FAT.

Nowadays I'm more excited about cooking than eating....

Looking at the fried rice, this reminds me! I forgot to take a photo of the first ever plate of fried bee hoon I cooked in my life! I had fried bee hoon for breakfast. Oh man... so indulgent. Shoots.

ANd here's tomorrow's dinner/lunch.

A pseudo Chicken Cacciatore aided by Roasted Garlic and Basil Pasta Sauce. (organic one btw...)

I still havent thought of what to do with the basil I have in the fridge. It was meant to make pesto sauce. But I decided that it is too much work without a blender or a mortar....

I think I'll make some Thai Style spaghetti with the basil another day.

Btw... suddenly just dawned on me that the stuff I cook look so boring.. everything yellow, green, white, time to crack my brains again. :)

I wish there were some mouths to feed..... sigh.

|| LITTLE WONDERS ~ ROB THOMAS ||

|| LITTLE WONDERS ~ lyrics ||

let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder
don’t you know the hardest part is over
let it in, let your clarity define you
in the end we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made in these small hours
these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine until you feel it all around you
and i don’t mind
if it’s me you need to turn to
we’ll get by,
it’s the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made in these small hours
these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain
