a very very bored, boring and bothersome person. I hate those who irritate but I am an irritant to some as well.

Life Goal
You don't need too many goals in life. I just have one. To travel around the world, ie go to every part of the world. All other things that seem like goals, are merely means to an end. Well, of course, if I like that place, I would like to go there again.

Don't read... it's a sick entry

Damn... I am back from Beijing but I am sick.

Very sick... caught a viral infection, most probably from Papa who was sick during the trip.

3pm: The first signs was my sore throat. I've felt uneasy after gulping down the Oolong Tea yesterday during tea break @ 10am. That triggered me to recall that I have not drank any plain water ever since I threw away my bottle of mineral water at 11pm the night before. Immediately I went to fill up my water bottle with plain water and gulped down 300ml of good ol' plain water.

5pm: Fled home in a taxi

530pm: Reached home and felt uneasy ever since. No appetite for dinner. Did laundry. Began breaking out in cold sweat with my feet feeling wobbly and chilly.

10pm: Body felt wam and feverish

1130pm: Body and mind 100% drained. Still felt feverish. Took panadol and went to bed.

XXX

TODAY...

7am: Woke up to the ringing of alarm clock. Had a blocked nose don't know from where... didn't even switch on the aircon and window was just slightly open. Throat continues to hurt. Felt weak. Battled between waking up, going to work or staying at home to rest. Today's lesson was important. Lots of cryptic entries to learn. Decided I was too weak to go to work. Went back to bed.

930am: Woke up and informed colleagues that I couldn't make it to office. Went back to bed, no longer feverish but very lethargic.

1030am: Woke up again, messaged mummy & papa that I was sick and did not make it to work. Papa replied "Take care, we are at great wall.". Took a bath and drove to the clinic.

1115am: Reached clinic and doctor diagnosed I had viral infection. No fever, bad sore throat, blocked nose. Did some groceries and bought lunch home.

1230pm: Reached home, had lunch. Did more laundry because the sun was shining really bright and the winds were really strong.

2pm: Headache started. My forehead skull began feeling sore. Could not open my eyes without feeling a strain. Eyes started feeling watery and red.

4pm: Gave up and headed to bed. Could not sleep. Sun was shining on my bed. Recalled that I haven't finished hanging up my clothes that I washed just now & got up to hang up my clothes. Headed back to my room and drew the curtains and switched on the aircon hoping to cool my self down. Still could not sleep because the second hand on the alarm clock was ticking really loudly and affecting my heartbeat and breathing. Got up and removed the alarm clock out of my room.

730pm: Woke up to a start. Surroundings were dark. It was nightfall. Started sneezing. Thanks to aircon. Throat still hurts and nose still blocked. Headache wouldn't go away. Usually, my headache will go away with sleep. Forehead skull still felt sore and tapping on it does not make it better.

745pm: Cooked vegetables for dinner, and brought in the laundry. All dried. Neighbour called to check if I was at home already and told her that I was sick and did not go to work. She called again and asked about my dinner and I told her not to worry I was cooking it. Mummy called shortly after. She couldnt reach me the whole day. Explained I was sleeping. They were at dinner and waiting for a show to start. Told them that I had a dream just now. Dreamt that they came back from Beijing and so did brother.

8pm: Had a plate of vegetables. Couldn't continue my report. So very delayed and so very dead. Continued sneezing even more. WP1_Lim messaged me to ask how I was doing. Replied with my medical report and he asked if I wanted him to pick me up tomorrow. I couldn't drive for sure I know. Replied affirmative and asked him to give me a wake up call. He declined and said if I dont call him by 730am he will take it that I am not going to work. Replied that I have to go tomorrow because of the important lunch. Forgot to mention about the presentation preparation. Cannot leave my team mates to do it without me again.

830pm: That feeling came back. Feeling of undigested food at my gullet level. Started throwing up the vegetables that I had. Stomach was rejecting food (again). Always happens when I eat whenever I have a headache. Horrible feeling.

9pm: Finished throwing up everything. I think some of my lunch came out as well. Walked around the empty house and checked on the fish and mum's plants. They look more alive than I do. Thought of how it would be when I was sick abroad, and it would be like today. Me being alone, and mum & papa not with me. I have to do all the laundry, cook my own dinner, go to the clinic alone etc... Actually it is not the first time I experienced this - fell sick once when I was in the states.

920pm: Great headache. Took some panadol extra.

10pm: Woke up and felt better. Started to blog about my sickness.

1029pm: Finished chronicalling my day of sickness.

Sick...

Great Jam Packed Weekend!

Oishii sou? Looks good? Been wanting to eat handmade soba ever since.... ages... and had this during Serena's belated b-day celebration on sunday. It was great meeting up with friends from sec school. These group of friends have been the group that I've constantly kept in touch with. I'm so glad this has been the case. All the fun, laughter, old jokes and new ones. I begin to realise that though as we grow older, no matter how much our hair have grown longer (long hair was unpermitted in secondary school), how much makeup we put (or don't put), how much weight we have gained (or lost), how much height we gained from platforms, heels or whatever... some things will always remain the same. The way we laugh out loud oblivious to anyone else in the world, the lame and stupid jokes we make about each other and of course the way we slap each other. It was a brief lunch, sorry I had to go soon gals, but 150% memorable.

It was a great weekend! On sunday, I bought my first laptop! Excited! Though I was using a laptop during uni days, it was not really mine, (it was mum's) and it wasn't COOL or aesthetically appealing. Hahhaa... I got a NEC Versa E6200 to the horror of my fellow male colleagues, but heck, it was just too pretty for me to resist. And of course with the little discount and additional freebies above those listed thrown in. All the jostling through the crowd was certainly worth it! GOsh it took me 15 mins to get from 3rd floor to the basement can you believe it?

Saturday was another great day. Collected my passport from immigration. Had a long wait so much so that there was time to catch a train to Bugis, walk over to Middle Road to collect my cert, make one round in Kinokuniya, go back to Immigration Building and wait for another 15 mins. Met Weiling there and chatted a bit, which was nice. :)

Following Immigration, I headed to Orchard feeling excited for various reasons. Firstly, I'd finally get the chance to eat at Crystal Jade Express cuz I've been craving for Hong Kong Cha Can Teng food for a long time. After a short mental battle between Beef Brisket Noodles & Spicy Wu Xiang Rou Yi Ting Mian (chu qian yi ding noodles), the former was subdued. When the cashier who was also the supervisor (cuz she wore a black suit which was different from the rest) asked me what I wanted for a drink, I replied "Ning Mut" in cantonese which means Lemon Honey. She instinctly reciprocated in Cantonese "there is not Lemon Honey in the menu..." but then quickly added "Oh, I have Honey, and I have Lemon, so I can make you some Lemon Honey!" She went on to charge me the price for Peach Tea...and let me tell you, that example of resourcefulness and quickthinking, satisfying the customer, going the extra mile, really made my day. I took my seat, and within minutes, she came around with the glass of Lemon Honey personally and reminded me to squeeze the lemon myself. I was truly touched, as I believe she had made the drink personally and had taken the responsibility of bringing the drink to me (taking personal accountability). All the good principles of customer service that I learnt from the courses were played out in this little episode, and really worth remembering. And here I present, a very humble meal of Lemon Honey and Maggi Noodles. I think a lesson to learn is that you never know what little things is big enough to make a person's day.

Following the meal, finally met up with Serena, and we headed to watch Letters from Iwo Jima. Then I met up with my cousins Jiawei, Reika, uncle and auntie, & my family for a buffet... It had been a great weekend!

恭喜发财!!! March's Resolution!

I love festivals! Gong Hei Fatt Choy! Wish everyone happiness, health and prosperity. Every festival, be it Christmas/New Year/Lunar New Year, I will always pray for happiness & health. The double Hs are the most important things in the world... things that make the world go round, and fill the world with hope for a better tomorrow. With that, I make a pledge to start going on a diet - a long constant battle with calories, kilograms, carbohydrates and myself. I should think positively instead, no, it's not a battle.

Anyway... it's been going pretty well, every festive season I tend to load 1 - 2kg. So far, it's been well under control, and with more frequent exercises, I should be able to reach my realistic target of losing 1 - 2 kg by end of march. I finally managed a breakthrough in my hula hoop count yesterday! Too ashamed of my little achievement, I shall not reveal what the number is. Thanks to a great SHIFU who demonstrated the correct way to do it.

Seriously, having changed to a rattan hula hoop instead of the plastic one, it really helped me in twirling more rounds, but a rattan hula hoop being really HEAVY and THICK, I got a bruise at my hip bone... which is really blackish red now. Hope I recover by wednesday because I'm gonna do hulas again. And also, thanks to the rattan hula.... as I spun it to hard, it suddenly flipped upwards and hit my tooth! My gums started bleeding and then my tooth cut my lips and tada... I have a cut on my lips! Ah....... and now My ABs hurt so much from yesterday's 1.5hr hula workout. Had rushed home feeling excited about doing more hulas but I couldnt continue doing it this evening. Switched to doing lunges, stretches, squats blah blah blah. Work out my BIG FAT ELEPHANT THIGHS.

Well, I can do it I can do it I can do it!!!

Short Deviation..... Dinner @ a Korean restaurant along Mosque Street with my lovely travelling companions... huimin not featured here... check out the wonderful little appetizers... yummy healthy stuff! Love the gourd thingy on the most left of the photo...

btw, i took this picture at the same restaurant.... xueli said her colleague saw the pictures that we took and commented that her friend, that is moi, looks demure. Xueli almost puked out and in fact, that was MY reaction too and I marvel at the fact at how looks can truly be deceiving especially when it's mine...

|| LITTLE WONDERS ~ ROB THOMAS ||

|| LITTLE WONDERS ~ lyrics ||

let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder
don’t you know the hardest part is over
let it in, let your clarity define you
in the end we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made in these small hours
these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine until you feel it all around you
and i don’t mind
if it’s me you need to turn to
we’ll get by,
it’s the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made in these small hours
these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain
